The 1996 Book Show Catalog Annual is ready now (but under wraps!). A new approach was taken this year, promising a fresh look born from the spirit of collaboration that surrounds every Bookbuilders West project. This catalog could not have been produced without the volunteer efforts of many people, all of whom deserve our gratitude.
John Walker at Davies-Black Publishing/Consulting Psychologists Press managed the production of the catalog from design to final files. He assembled the team players with the help of Carole Major. The design team consisted of the talents of Bruce Kortebein, Randall Goodall, Janet Bollow, Rob Hugel, Cassandra Chu, and Mark Ong. The editorial team included Judith Hibbard as copyeditor, Sharon Montooth as proofreader, Kelly Murphy as photo editor, and Renee DiIulio as developmental editor. Marshall Berman and Michael Falconer provided the photography. Jonathan Peck Typographers generously provided scanning capabilities. ColorTech did prepress work, and GTS Graphics ran final film. Permalin Products donated cover material, and P. H. Glatfelter contributed paper. The Press of Ohio printed the two-color text, and R. R. Donnelley manufactured the four-color section on a Xeikon. Color Dot donated cover printing, and Lincoln & Allen brought it all together in the bindery. Bookbuilders West and this year's Book Show chairs, Gloria Fontana, Carole Major, and Stephen Thomas, extend a heartfelt thanks to all those involved.
The result of this collaboration is a combination of two- and four-color printing and includes classic Book Show Annual sections as well as some new ones. It will be unveiled at Book Show 1996 on December 5 at the San Francisco Marriott in Burlingame, California. Join us to Celebrate Books Through the Years!
