Dick Palmer Retires

A founding member of Bookbuilders West and a long-time member of the San Francisco Bay Area book community, Dick Palmer has retired from publishing as of December 31, 1995.

Dick began his career in 1965 as Production Manager of Stanford University Press, followed by five years at W. H. Freeman as production/design director. He was a designer at Straight Arrow Press, the short-lived but lively book division of Rolling Stone, and also spent time at Wiley-Hamilton as Managing Editor. He moved south to San Diego in 1978, working first at Academic Press, then as a sales representative for Murray Printing Company, and settling at Sage Publications in 1988.

The Palmers have moved to 2981 South Newport Street, Denver, Colorado 80244, and look forward to hearing from (and seeing) old friends. They can be reached at 303-758-3933.
