The Education Committee is presenting eight seminars this year. Three of the seminars have taken place already, and here are the seminar offerings for the rest of the year:

In 1996, Bookbuilders West will award two $2000 scholarship grants to worthy college juniors or seniors. Posters and applications for these awards have been sent to colleges and universities in the western states. The deadline for applications is May 3, 1996. The scholarship recipients will be invited to join BBW members at our annual wrap-up and fundraiser in June.

The Book Show 1996 Committee is working on the schedule, venue, and Call for Entries, and has held a meeting of the Judging Task Force (see article on page 3).
The Call for Entries is due to mail around April 30. The due date for entries for the 1996 Book Show is Friday, May 31. Judging will take place early in June. Look for Book Show details in the May/June issue.

The Crash Course Committee will sponsor BBW's annual introduction to publishing and production Wednesday, May 1 at the Grosvenor Hotel, 380 South Airport Boulevard, just north of the San Francisco Airport. This all-day meeting introduces new people to all aspects of production, from art and editing to composition and printing.
