Creating Community: Bookbuilders Northcoast

Bookbuilders Northcoast (BBNC) is an educational and networking resource for publishing professionals in coastal communities north of the San Francisco Bay Area. Authors, copyeditors, proofreaders, indexers, graphic designers, book producers, publishers, and printers come together to talk about what they do, find out about their new colleagues' specialties, learn from each other, and trade job leads and industry news. Members meet monthly (see below for details) and hold quarterly networking salons. BBNC also conducts an annual panel at a local high school to familiarize young people with careers in publishing. BBNC was formed in 2004 in Mendocino, California and is affiliated with Bookbuilders West. For more information, please contact Medea Minnich at northcoast@bookbuilders.org.

Mission Statement
Bookbuilders Northcoast serves as a bridge in Mendocino County to connect a wide-range of book-industry professionals with each other and the world of publishing at large. Through gatherings and by fostering new relationships between freelancers, authors, publishers, printers, distributors, service providers and others, BBNC promotes networking, sharing of information and job leads, and a way to disburse information about the publishing industry. The primary mission of BBNC is to serve as a vehicle for networking.
