Thomson Learning Higher Education sold to
Apax Partners and OMERS Partners
The higher education, career learning, and library reference
assets of Wadsworth (Belmont, CA), Delmar Learning, Gale,
Heinle, Brooks/Cole and South Western have been sold to
Apax Partners and OMERS Capital Parners by The Thomson Corporation
for a reported $7.75 billion in cash. In an announcement
on May 11th, it was stated that the transactions are expected
to close in the third quarter of this year and are subject
to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
According to reports, Apax partners intend to appoint Ronald
G. Dunn as Chief Executive of Thomson Learning when the
deal is completed. Apax Partners is one of the world’s
