People Going Places 7/13/07

John Cronin returned back East in February to be Production Manager at Johns Hopkins University Press, "probably the only job I would've moved for, except maybe to the tropics." He spent 13 years in California in design and production positions at University of California Press, Thomson Learning, and Jossey-Bass, as well as teaching English and writing in the evenings at Chapman University. He was a frequent contributor to the BBW newsletter and was a Book Show judge in 1997. He can be reached at jgc@press.jhu.edu.

Alan Watt, formerly of Chronicle Books, San Francisco, has joined the New York City sales office, and Dean Sherman, formerly of Malloy Incorporated, Ann Arbor Michigan, has joined the Midwest sales office. Passing
The book publishing industry suffered a major loss with the passing of Jan Nathan on June 17th, following a year long battle with cancer. Jan was the founding executive director of Publishers Marketing Association (PMA) and was instrumental in all of PMA’s accomplishments including the prestigious Ben Franklin Awards. Founded in 1983, PMA represents more than 4200 book, audio, and video publishers throughout the country.

Apress, Inc. has relocated after being in their previous location for five years.
