This course gives an introduction of the entire book publishing
production process including: editing; design; composition;
art and photo preparation for 1-, 2-, and 4-color printing;
binding; and paper selection. Interested in learning about
new media technologies? Information about creating various
media projects in conjunction with print projects will be
presented as well.

Happy Hour & Crash Course Wrap-Up to Follow
Cap off your Crash Course experience with a visit to Mendo Litho in Ft. Bragg where owner Phil Sharples will demonstrate what happens when your pre-press files arrive at the printer. See the equipment and techniques printers use to print a book as you tour a local printing facility (www.mendolitho.com).
After the tour, Crash Course attendees are invited to meet at a local bar for more mingling with other attendees and unwinding after a full day. Location to be announced. There is no additional cost for these extra Crash Course events.

Join your North Coast book-industry colleagues and Bay Area
guests for a special networking event in the Abalone Room
at the Little River Inn. To kick-off the BBW Crash Course,
BBNC will host a gathering to welcome the presenters of
the Crash Course, BBW representatives, Crash Course attendees,
and local BBNC participants.
Enjoy light appetizers and refreshments and a sensational
coastal view. Cost to attend is $10. There will be a cash
bar for wine and beer. Cocktails will be available for purchase
at the Little River Inn bar. Reservations must be made by
Monday, March 31st (no exceptions please). RSVP to northcoast@bookbuilders.org.
